Art Therapy - Video

Today is a surprise, I want to invite you into my art studio, and my adventure into watercolor as I learned to paint when the lockdowns started in 2020. I’d dabbled in art in high school and when the world went crazy I went back to what I loved doing most...creating art.

Everyone has childhood fantasies, games, or creative pursuits that made us smile or we suddenly erupted into giggles when playing with a group of friends. Or maybe we preferred to play alone, and we were left pondering for hours, where time stood still and all the burdens in life went away. Pure joy came from those moments.

We grew up and put away the childish things and we’ve forgotten how to play. It is time to revisit the fun, the curiosity and the love we found in life. The thrill of waking up each morning, bounding out of bed and embracing each new day, excited to learn something new. It is time to be that kid again, time to give ourselves permission to create something uniquely ours. Or just be still, finding peace in the moment, taking time to stop and smell the roses.

I invite you to embrace yourself as your younger you, embrace the joy you knew. Live, at least for a little while, with eyes of a child, full of curiosity and vitality.

My paintings were done as projects in the online courses I subscribed to in the winter months.
