Sick and tired of being sick and tired? Have food sensitivities, stiffness, fatigue, and feel like crap? Today I’m starting a series that will help demystify the path to health. Not always easy in today’s culture, which is what needs to change. The way we look at food, bacteria, health and wellness may be challenged with the information I will be presenting. I encourage you to have an open mind and think outside the proverbial box.
The Raw Milk Renaissance: A Farmer’s Advocacy for Natural Dairy
The benefits of introducing cultured foods into our diet is something new to many of us but was common place with our ancestors. Throughout history people have survived and thrived with foods that we’ve eliminated from our diet. Why? A lot of reasons, but how we’ve been programmed to think about bacteria is getting in our way of being healthy. Want to learn more about cultured foods and what they are good for? Listen to this podcast, “Benefits of Each Cultured Food” for an overview of the various cultures and why it makes sense to consider incorporating them into your diet.
Recent information is pointing to the importance of the microbiome, especially Bifido bacteria, with relevance to Covid and other immune responses. “Building Up the All Important Bifido Bacteria” explains a lot more on this subject, and you really should listen, especially if you or anyone you know suffers from chronic disease, SIBO, autoimmune issues or long covid.
Milk - Raw - A1/A1 vs. A2/A2 - What’s the Difference?
Let’s dive into the first food we humans get in life…milk. Is there a difference? Could our lifelong health issues have started at birth and no one knew…that milk doesn’t always “do a body good”? Let’s take a moment to look at milk a little closer, specifically the protein of milk, casein. “Understanding A1 & A2 Raw Milk” with Joel Stalatin from Polypace Farms will help clarify what and why it’s important. Interesting to note the correlation between milk and gluten. Be patient, my next post will dive into gluten sensitivity issues and how to better understand what’s behind it. But I’m getting ahead of myself…
Have you heard of a colicky baby that couldn’t digest regular milk but thrived on goat’s milk or sheep’s milk? This is why…goat and sheep are A2 milk, whereas all dairy cows are not. It’s all about the money…A1 cows produce MORE milk, not better milk, just more. There’s a lot of politics involved but I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. I want to stay focused on foods that heal. Instead how about Why is A2/A2 Organic Milk Easier to Digest? Want to know where to get A2/A2 milk? Check out Azure Standard to shop for organic, wholesome food for your family including A2/A2 milk from Alexandre Family Farm…you’ll be glad you did.
Raw milk is key since the enzymes and amino acids haven’t been destroyed by heat as is done in the pasteurization and homogenization process of commercial dairy. Commercial milk that most people buy in the grocery store is what I call “dead food”. There isn’t any real nutrition, it has to be enhanced with synthetic vitamins and minerals since the good ones have been destroyed in the ultra processing that’s done to make it “safe” for public consumption. What a con job, we’ve been hood winked folks.
I used to keep goats and milked them manually. I took great care with keeping the goat’s teats clean, the milk pail made of stainless steel, and the strainer and filters were food safe. The milk was refrigerated and fermented into yogurt, sour cream or a soft cheese. People have been doing this for centuries and now we have so called advancements, we are the sickest we’ve ever been.
For More Information on Raw Milk and A2/A2 milk
For more information about A2 milk watch “What is A2 Milk? - Dr. Berg” on YouTube. Dr. Berg talks about “Raw Milk” and A1 vs. A2 milk. I’ve provided more information about A1 and A2 milk in my blog post, “My Story” and how this is very personal to me.

I’ve written on this subject, healing with food, before in my blog post “Nutrigenomics” last year. This is too important not to revisit again. Autoimmune diseases don’t have to be a lifelong sentence of chronic illness.
Next time I’ll be discussing the gluten sensitivity issues and the true science of what’s really bothering you…and it isn’t necessarily the gluten.
Have you or someone you’ve known had issues with dairy? Did you try goat or sheep milk and find you could digest it but not regular cow’s milk? A2 milk is why.
