Two litters of kittens, a birthday and Mother's Day back in May and it's been busy ever since. My garden grew weeds bettter than anything as they got out of hand while I played with the kitties. Good thing I grew a lot of beans that were meant to be dried and stored. I have a lot of seeds for next year too!
People are asking for pictures of the kittens so to make it easy (for me) I'm posting them online instead of emailing pictures to everyone that is asking for them. Not only that but the videos are so stinking cute you won't want to miss them either. The videos are to large to email.
Patches had her litter of kittens on May 6th, well at least 3 of them. Yes, she paused her labor until sometime during the night or morning. We found a stillborn kitten in the box off to the side. The following day another kitten was born, so his birthday is May 8th.
Patches kittens are about 3.5 weeks old and are getting very active. They've moved to a bigger, cleaner box where mom can stretch out and the kittens have more room to play. These are the first of their individual portraits and it wasn't easy....they move FAST!
We gave the girls names of flowers since they were born on the full moon known as the "Flower Moon" and it was also Kentucky Derby day. The kitten born later we call Casey, he didn't fit the theme.
The First Litter - Patches’s Kittens
The Second Litter - Smudge’s Kittens
Smudge had her litter of five kittens on Mother's Day and they are only two weeks old when these pictures were taken so there aren't many pictures...yet. Here are three of the five in her litter. The two gray ones I believe are girls and the orange one in the middle is most likely a boy. Did you know that 80% of orange cats are male?
I've only had a chance to take a couple of decent photos of Smudge's litter since they are only barely past two weeks old at this point.
Ms. Photogenic - Miss Petunia
Petunia has a dark marking under her chin which didn't show up in the other picture, so here is one that shows her just chillin' out.
The kittens first video when they were only 2 weeks old. They are still crawling around and notice the teddy bear ears typical of a kitten this age. By 3 weeks they will be walking and have ears that look more cat like.
Viral Video
The video below has had over 4,000 views on YouTube in two months. It’s crazy cute!
You can watch more of the kitten videos on my YouTube channel and watch them play. I had fun capturing their kittenhood every week as they grew up. Time flies so fast!
